accident involving commercial vehicle?

I was in an accident with a commercial vehicle and i do not know if i should hire an attorney or not. i was stopped on the side of the street waiting to pull out of a parking spot when a large commercial Xenical truck attempted to make a right hand turn and hit the back of my vehicle shoving us forward. I had some minor injuries bruise on my knee, neck sprain and about 2 weeks of major headaches so far. I have been referred to physical therapy and my son had a minor neck sprain and was referred to physical therapy as well. Do i need an attorney? i have been unable to work since the accident and my bills are due how do i get compensated?
You do not need an attorney at this point. Have you notified your own insurance about the accident? You should. They can advise you how best to proceed
Save yourself & the courts some headaches before getting an attorney involved. Have you contacted your (or the other driver’s) insurance company about you & your son’s injuries. You may have some compensation coming. Do you have short term disability insurance, like AFLAC, at work? That could cover your bills if you file or the insurance company could come through. Who was at fault for the accident? If you were not in a proper parking area & were hit, sorry for your luck. Have you contacted your creditors to explain that you have been involoved in an accident & can’t work? They may have programs to help you. Yes, there will be more headaches ahead, but it will get better. Only get an attorney involved if the insurance company (ies) won’t work with you. Good luck!!
