What type of attorney would I need? This is the situation. We are a General Contractor and have a contract with a client for a commercial shopping plaza. We have performed the work. Levitra buy cheap well, the client has filed bankruptcy and owe’s us around 80K and left for India for 2 weeks. The client keeps blowing us off. This has been going on for almost a year. What type of attorney would I go to?
Thank you

If he filed BK, there probably isnt much you can do. What you SHOULD have done was file a mechanic’s lien on the property so you would have some priority to be paid out of the bankrupt estate. It might not be too late to file that lien now. You need to speak with an attorney who handles bankruptcy for creditors.
omg I am SO sorry!! You need to file suit IMMEDIATELY so he cannot leave the country
Call your state bar association they can give you a list of attorneys that are in the right area to help represent you.
I would certainly have filed a mechanics’ lien against the client. I don’t know what the statute of limitations is in your state, but you should check out your construction statutes.
If you have passed the statute of limitations, you should file as an unsecured creditor. A phone call to most any bankruptcy attorney will put you on the right path. There is an 800 number you can dial, follow the steps from the menu and you can get the bankruptcy file number and the attorney who is handling the client’s bankruptcy proceeding.
Good Luck
