I remember 10 years ago commercial time was filled with attorney commercials and it drove me nuts. Now the "thing" is medicine commercials that are sometimes BEYOND gross. I always have my remote right next to me to mute it the minute commercials start because I know if I don’t, one of those prescription drugs will come on quoting all the narsty side effects it may include. Nothing like having a nice snack and hearing "may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc., etc." I mean, come on….can they be a bit more gross???? lol Yes I can choose to NOT watch TV, but we watch it to be entertained, not grossed out or depressed by these commercials.
