Do not ever consider a debt negotiation/consolidation company whatever you do.
If you have time google debt consolidation scam, rip-off, or compalints.
It will open your eyes as to what these companies really do.
They take your money, and you end up in court anyway.
Have you tried going to your local library or bookstore.
At my library (and I live in a tiny town), there are dozens of books on bankrupcy (for our state), also there are tons of books on debt repair.
These books teach you how to negotiate, settle, or reduce debt on your own.
There is also a non profit organization called NFCC.org or national foundation for consumer credit councelling. Look in your phone book for your local office (they do not do busines online).
They will help you for free – or at most $25/month.
Be careful about online sites promissing to help – don’t get taken.
