Is it common for attorney to hold up money longer when case is done?

I prepaid my attorney for my case, but I reached an agreement with people involved myself. So case is cancelled. When I asked the attorney to charge for his services prescription online and refund me the rest of the money, he said it takes a few weeks when he does the book keeping. That’s is just a small law firm (just him and a secretary). It shouldn’t be complicated like that.

Absolutely, because the longer he holds up the money the more money that can be earned in interest where ever he has the money invested. Or he just may have made a bad investment and is trying to recoup the money that he lost. At any rate threaten to sue for the money and watch how fast he refunds your money…..
