laws on signing a commercial lease….help!!!!?
Your Question
laws on signing a commercial lease in Florida help!!?? ?
i lease a commercial piece of property and have signed a 3 year lease he is now trying to evict me saying that in florida you have to have more than 2 people sign a 3 year lease and only 2 people signed so the lease is no longer a 3 year its a 1 year how is that possible i thought that a 3 year commercial Generic Drugs lease was a common short term lease. also if you can have a oral lease in florida why would more than 2 people have to sign a 3 year..this all extends from the property im leasing being under contract to be sold to multimillionaires and they dont want to honor my lease so my landlord is being told to get rid of us before they will close on the deal….all this and we have very few places we are able to move our Business limited money to do so and its christmas and both my kids bdays are in dec and we really cant afford an attorney not a good month can someone help please any advice would be appreciated
i have no idea if it was recorded at the recorders office…this is the 1st lease we have ever signed.

Ask him to give you a copy of this law. Of course, he will not be able to, because there is no such law, in Florida or anywhere else in the U.S.
Yes, it sounds like he just wants you out of there. Stand firm. If you want, you can offer to move now, IF he is willing to pay you to do so. Come up with a good price that will cover the expenses necessary to relocate your business.
If he takes any actions that are designed to interfere with your business in an effort to get you to move voluntarily, then hire an attorney. Remind him that if you are forced to go to court, then the loser (him) will pay your attorney’s fees (I presume such a term is in your lease, as it’s pretty common for commercial leases).
BTW, did you record this lease at the recorder’s office?
He’s talking nonsense – you have the right to retain possession until the lease is up. Contact an attorney.
